2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs 2019 GMC Sierra 1500

As you may already know, both the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 are made by the same parent company, General Motors (GM). As a result, the two trucks are typically very evenly matched. At the same time, however, everyday truck drivers always find a few reasons to choose one GM model over the other.

As a result of this rivalry, many of our loyal customers at Burke Motor Group have been asking for a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 comparison. While we’re happy to oblige, one will quickly see that it’s impossible to go wrong with either of these GM vehicles.

Similarities and Differences – 2019 Silverado 1500 vs Sierra 1500

With the exact same engines and power ratings, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 are equally matched under the hood. Whether one is a looking for a base-level 285-horsepower engine or a be-all-end-all 420-horsepower behemoth, one can find such options in both of these trucks. One way that they do differ, however, is their respective maximum towing capacity, as highlighted in the chart above; but even then, it’s a small margin.

Another identical marking for these trucks is their standard inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for every model. While shoppers everywhere are sure to appreciate these systems, this doesn’t help their decision between the two trucks. Something that may help, however, is the number of trim levels available to each vehicle in the 2019 production year.

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is available in eight trim levels: Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country. The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500, meanwhile, has six trims to choose from: Base, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, and Denali.

Now, would you rather have as many options as possible or would you prefer to sift through fewer details? This may very well be the train of thought that leads you to a final decision in your deliberation of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 comparison. Remember, either truck is an excellent choice, so don’t worry too much!

In any event, our team at Burke Motor Group would be happy to help in any way that we can. Feel free to contact us with any further questions. We hope to serve you sometime soon!
